BIBLE STUDY WITH PASTOR JEFF
Bible Study with Pastor Jeff continues every Monday at 1:00 p.m. On February 6th it will be in the Fellowship Room. We will be studying the Gospel of Matthew.
Sunday Morning Bible Study Resumes!
Perhaps you have resolved to spend more time in the study of God's Word in the new year. If so, we have just the offering for you! Please consider joining our small group on Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Room. Each week we look at the Scriptures to be used in worship that day. There is no need to read the texts in advance nor to sign up. All are welcome! For further information, contact Debra Tangarone.
The Theater Arts Ministry will perform Thornton Wilder’s comedy, “The Matchmaker” from Thursday, May 3rd through Saturday, May 5th. Save the dates. Originally written as “The Merchant of Yonkers,” this version was a Broadway hit in the 1950s and served as the inspiration for the musical, “Hello Dolly.” Auditions will be held Sunday, February 12th at 1 PM and Tuesday, February 14th at 7 PM. There is a sizable cast and many parts for men and women. Newcomers are especially welcome to join us.

SPRING GLEN HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP NEWS:
WE'RE GOING ON A MISSION TRIP!
WHERE: Washington D.C.
WHAT: Working through a program called "YSOP" (Youth Services Opportunities Project), we will be serving with organizations in D.C. that address a range of issues related to homelessness and hunger in the area. Our days will include a mix of tasks from serving meals and stocking food pantry shelves, to reading with homeless children and setting up transitional apartments. Additionally, we will be learning about the causes and experience of homelessness and what it is like to be formerly homeless through talks and shared reflection at YSOP, and through our interactions with those with whom we will be serving. We will be staying in an International Hostel, which will be a great learning opportunity as well. Friday we have set aside as a day to explore the many offerings of D.C.
WHEN: Sunday July 8th (leaving after church) - Saturday July 14th (return time TBD). We'll be taking Amtrak.
WHO: Any youth currently in 9th-12th grades are invited to join. If you are not currently participating in youth group but are interested in the Mission Trip, please contact Lindsey to learn more about it and how you can join.
If you are interested, our deadline for deposits is February 5th! We are limited by our lodging to only 16 youth (plus 4 adults) so be sure to sign up to hold your spot.
ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICE FEBRUARY 22ND AT MT CARMEL CHURCH
SERVICE WILL BEGIN AT 7:30 P.M.
The Singing Bishop is coming to Spring Glen Church! This short chancel musical tells the story of Bishop Theodolphus of France, the composer of the Easter song "All Glory, Laud and Honor". It tells the dramatic story of his imprisonment by King Louis I. It is meant to be performed during the Palm Sunday service. We are excited to offer the children of Spring Glen Church the experience of rehearsing and performing The Singing Bishop as a Lenten offering, with the performance to take place on April 1st, Palm Sunday. More information to follow about try-outs and the rehearsal schedule...
