The time for fresh local fruits and vegetables is finally here again. The Spring Glen Farmers’ Market will be held on Tuesday afternoons from 3 - 6, beginning June 22nd. Most of last year’s vendors are returning for the 2010 season.
By shopping at the Spring Glen Farmers' Market you will help these local farmers continue small-scale farming which is ultimately healthier for us and for the environment. You also help reduce the amount of fuel it takes to transport your food. (Did you know that food in our supermarkets travels an average of 1,500 miles to get here? The farthest distance Spring Glen Market vendors travel is 50 miles, and three of them travel less than 5 miles.) Additionally, you can meet the people who work at the farms and ask them how their products are grown or made.
Come out to the market, meet the farmers, spend time with your neighbors in the community, and enjoy the best tasting food you can get!

Fall Retreat at Weston Priory, Weston Vermont
for Adults in our Congregation
September 24-26, 2010
Rev. Kurt Shaffert and Rev Nancy Strickland will lead a fall retreat to Weston Priory the weekend of September 24-26. The group will stay at a chalet near the Priory. (This is the same place the group stayed last time there was a retreat there), which has accommodations for 15 or so people. There will be time for group discussion, silence, exploring scripture, quiet walks, and joining with the monks in their rhythm of times of prayer through out each day. The basic cost for the weekend is $100 plus food, which will be provided by our group. There is a sign up sheet in the entry.
