Sunday School

Noah's Chapel is used for Sunday School worship services.
The Spring Glen Church Sunday School is a comprehensive program for children age 4 to grade 6, with infant and toddler care offered every Sunday. Over a year’s time, up to 60 members of the congregation minister to the children as teachers and classroom assistants.

Sunday School children begin the morning with their families at the 10 a.m. worship service and stay for about 20 minutes.  During that time, we have a Children's Message and afterward they go with their teachers to Sunday School classes. (Infants and toddlers up to age 3 may be taken directly to their separate playrooms at 10 a.m.)  On the first Sunday of every month, the children return to the sanctuary, re-join their families, and partake of Holy Communion.

About once a month Sunday School children have an additional brief service in “Noah’s Chapel,” a worship space that’s painted to look like an ark. All Sunday School classes run until 11:15 a.m.; the Sunday School program year runs from early September until mid-June.

A Summer Sunday School program is held every Sunday (except for 4th of July and Labor Day weekends) concurrently with the worship service from 10 to 11 a.m.  After “Time for Children” teachers and children meet in classrooms or outdoors for stories and lessons taught through African drumming, sing-alongs, crafts, and games.  Each year a community service activity, such as baking cookies for others, is included. The program is offered for children going into Kindergarten through grade 3.

There are always two or more teachers in each classroom; in 2005 Spring Glen Church adopted a “Safe Church Policy

Students in 7th and 8th grade attend weekly Sunday Confirmation Classes and later participate in the high school age Youth Group.
